Tell us a little bit about yourself; in your own words, what do you do?
My name is Temitope Omoyefa and I am a photographer and designer. I run OT Media based in Regina, Saskatchewan.
What does it mean to you?
It is an outlet for me to express myself creatively and it gives me the freedom to explore artistically in various ways.
What inspired you to do this? What drives you?
The ability to capture moments that’ll last forever is my drive. People and nature inspire me. Yes, I know it sounds cliché, but this is true. I am motivated by the story each picture depicts, with faces and bodies conveying different emotions.
What advice would you give to someone starting? Cheat codes?
I’d say start with what you have. I know many people don't start because they want to wait to buy the best camera or equipment, but I'm a firm believer in starting with what you have and working towards where you want to be. Cheat codes? If I give them, then it won't be a secret… just kidding! My cheat code is to be you; your taste and eye is different, don't try to be everyone.
Looking back, what do you wish you knew?
I wish I knew that I didn't have to wait to get the best equipment to start.
Do you have any short or long term goals? Tell us a little about it!
My goal is to build my business up to bigger and better heights. I would love to try out travel photography also.
Give the folks at home an industry secret, a hack they can do at home.
Lighting is your best friend. Even the worst camera can take a good picture with good lighting.
